To help you figure out how much your job may cost, what it might involve and how long it could take; we have put some case studies to help make your decision easier. Please keep in mind that these prices are our own, and other metal work companies may have higher costs.

Description:  Over 375m of various railings at different heights and fittings were manufactured and installed at the Primrose Mill site, Burnley by S L Wrought Iron Ltd for the maintenance and construction company, Ringstones. The £6million development consists of 48 two and three bedroom houses and bungalows, and 12 sheltered flats all consturcuted to Level 3 of the code for sustainable homes. The metal work varied from railings and posts to handrails and balustrades, varying in heights and lengths and fittings. All metal work was made to order, which had to include detailed surveys and measurements on site, and high qulaity control within the manufacturing process to ensure accurate results when it came to installation.

The various metal work for this development included 20m of curved railings, 45 gate posts, 64m of base plated wall fitting railings, infill panels, and railings of heights from 0.6m high to 1.6m high. Also included was an access gate to the flats, tube handrails to ramps and steps, canopy posts for the entrance to houses and a stainless steel indoor balustrade for the flats. All outdoor metal railings, handrails and posts were galvanized and powder coated to the clients specified colours to ensure longevity and maintenance free finishes. All work was completed on target and on time as the development progressed, on a stage by stage basis in order for the residents to move in when planned.

Description:   Globe Construction were managing a project for a new housing estate in Sabden, Lancashire. They needed safe, aesthetically pleasing railings to go around the perimeter of the complex separating the nearby land and river bank. S L Wrought Iron Ltd constructed their hoop top

railings, galvanised and painted the fencing sections at their own unit in Accrington, and installed the railings on site securely and professionally, meeting the deadline with ease. These railings also came with a double gate with locking mechanisms in the centre and bottom, with even a space for a padlock.

S L Wrought Iron Ltd also installed a 2m high palisade security fencing unit around a tree near the edge of the river bank, to block off unsafe access of the bridge over the river. This too has a security gate with locking apparatus.
